A House

by Mira   Feb 3, 2005

A cold, grey, lonely house
Upon a desolate hill top
Boarded up rooms
Creaky floors

A small drab room
Upon the very top floor
Dwelling in the corner
A small girl

A tattered teddybear
Upon her lap
Smiling pitifully
One small friend

A quiet, timid voice
Upon the ears of the listening
Calling for recognition
One small grace

A person
Upon the floors of the house
Wanders, ignoring the child
Small matters

A haunted tear
Upon her cheek
Falling to the floor
Suppressed pain

A small child
Upon that day
Clutching her teddy bear
Abandoned girl

A house
Upon a hill
Standing still and lonely
My heart
