Shimmering of light, echoes on the bay

by Nici   Feb 5, 2005

The shimmering of light that echoes on the bay
Movement of the waves caused by passing boats
A calm and neutral air fills this wondrous place
The harmony of sailing, it’s ever growing grace

I sit along the quay to watch the distant blurs
And soak up all the sun that falls onto my back
The blurs move ever closer, becoming oh so clear
My passion for all sailing overcomes my water fears

The fear of bottomless water in which I cannot swim
Are swept away with joy of gliding through the bay
The overwhelming joy of sailing through the breeze
Accompanied by friends who put my fears at ease

*Funny though it sounds this poem is written about how much I love my job. Yes I am a sailing instructor.
