Teenager

by ♥-Sharon Ardern-♥   Feb 10, 2005

I get crushes on boys
Act like a total fool
Sitting by the phone
Waiting for them to call
But I’m a teenager.

I worry about how I look
Constantly afraid
That I look bad and ugly
Hating the way I’m made
But I’m a teenager.

I fight with my mom
About staying out late
I want to stay out till 3 AM
But she doesn’t want to wait
But I’m a teenager.

I scream and I scream
I break down and cry
I’ve been raped and hurt
And I WANT TO DIE
But I’m only a teenager!

Very cleverly written Sharon. Very powerful. Love it. A poem that SO many people can relate to. Whether that's a good or a bad thing is debateable.
