For Her

by Lipton   Feb 15, 2005

I walk down the halls, fine at first, and then I glance aside,
Two people, making out, my eyes I try to hide.
Disgusted, I move forward, quickly shrugging it off,
Then I see another couple, doing the same stuff.

"What's with this?" I ask myself. "Did I miss the memo?"
"Since today is Valentine's, are we supposed to find our other?"
"Certainly not," I think to myself, pushing through an orgy,
"Love shouldn't be about having someone, but having the one made for me."

However, as always, I sit alone unlinked,
My "significant other" is somewhere off the brink.
Off the brink, and my field of vision, I truly just sit and stare.
Hoping that one day she'll come, and she'll take me away from here.

So still I wait, for her to come, through the rain and storm,
Hoping, praying, that in God's good time, in my life, she will be formed.
How so, I do not know, I could already know her,
"What a scary thought!" I say to myself, and off to bed, I saunter...
