Raising my white flag (so lost)

by Janice Brown~©~   Feb 15, 2005

So lost
In a world without colour
The paint is fading
Growing grey and duller

So lost
In a never ending world
Now I know what it feels like
To be a lost and lonely girl

So frustrated
With the way things are
How boring my life is
As appetizing as a muesli bar

The life I live
Is something I could do without
It's the same old thing
Day in and day out

Being sad and lonely
Can become such a drag
Stuff this, I give up
I'm raising my white flag

I give in
No longer can i take this,
The fact ...that no-one realizes...
I even exsist.

    spelled "exist"

I thought this poem was good. The imagery concerning the white flag brings up not only images concerning surrender, but war and strife as well, both of which add a feeling of uphill struggle, as if you've tried very hard to keep going, but you have given up because it was too much, or too dull.
