Individuality

by littlballa   Feb 15, 2005

Tired of people thinking
Thinking they know me
Wish they would just listen
Listen to me speak
I am an athlete
But that’s not all of me
So people need to stop
Stop stereotyping me
I am an individual
Who strives for other goals
People don’t even know
Know what I want to be when I grow old
Why do people even
Even care
Why don’t they just stop
Stop and stare
Watch the way I act
And watch the way I move
Then they’ll finally know
Know I am full
Full of different qualities
Qualities that none of you see
Now try and figure out what
What you see in me?
It’s different now isn’t it?
It’s not just the same
You see I’m an individual
And that’s part of the game
The game of life is twisted
It has many turns
I guess one of yours
Is that you need to learn
Learn that people are different
And aren’t just one thing
They can be good at anything
So next time you try
Try to categorize me
You’re going to need more words
Than just athlete
