My Brother

by Tanya, Mom of one.   Feb 16, 2005

As far back at I can remember,
You were always there.
I remember how you'd dress me like a boy,
And make me hide my hair.

I know you didn't want a little girl,
Following you around the road,
But to me back then you were my world,
Somehow I think you understood.

I think back to starting school,
On that dreadful island in town,
But it wasn't that bad as long as I knew,
That you were always around.

Our crazy trip to school that morning,
When you out run that cop...
I never knew what went with my math book,
But we sure as heck wasn't about to stop!!!

When mom and daddy got a divorce,
I knew I missed my home,
But not seeing you every day like before,
Made me feel so alone.

When I got married you were there,
Even tho it did not last,
You found the one and only "Gator",
Best friend you've ever had!!!

I know we grew apart for a while,
But thats over, its done.
No apology was necessary,
You were still my #1.

From trips with dad on the bicycle,
To laughing at him in the store,
From breakfast at ma maw's house,
That kept us going back for more!

I love you "Bob", your my brother,
I'm glad were normal again,
My life without you in it,
Would never have been the same.

****To my brother, I love you more than you'll ever know****
