Reach for the Sun

by Timothy   Feb 16, 2005

1st Verse:
Many a weary mile, I have roamed,
Forced to see the horror, as I blindly try to find home;
I am exhausted and starving, and my will is about to fold,
My blood needs to be warmed, because this world's heart has grown so cold.

I've been gone so long, that my home is a distant memory,
It could be a thousand miles, or beyond the next grove of trees;
The proud people of my hometown, if they only knew,
How the War killed the hero's soul, long before his body was through.

Chorus:
We've all had heartbreaks, and lost loved ones,
But I'm going to climb that mountain...and reach for the sun;
Reach for the sun (amplified)!
Reach for the sun (fade),
I'm going to climb that mountain...and reach for the sun.

2nd Verse:
I've been trekking down the road of tragedy, a damnable, never-ending road,
Yesterday, I came across a sight, that almost made my heart explode;
A woman's frozen body was laying face-down, on her ramshackle farm,
Overturning her body, I discovered the child she had tried to keep warm.

In my heart, I know my home I will never again see,
In every way I'm lost, as I buckle to my knees;
With trembling, icy fingers, I withdraw my gun,
And pray the Lord will forgive me...as I climb that mountain...and reach for the sun.

Repeat Chorus:
We've all had heartbreaks, and lost loved ones,
But I'm going to climb that mountain...and reach for the sun;
Reach for the sun (amplified)!
Reach for the sun (fade),
I'm going to climb that mountain...and reach for the sun.
