The Sands of Time: Pt. II

by Dani Ward   Feb 16, 2005

I've wandered for so long,
a few billion years at least,
trying to find the one,
to tame this roaming beast.
long ago I found her here,
and knew her soul true,
but of where the body she wore in Life was,
I hadn't a single clue.
so I had decided to roam,
forever in the Sands of Time,
until I found her again,
to live my life sublime.
I'd met so many creatures,
seen so many things,
and even the echoes of what I had known,
had finally ceased to ring.
there was no way I could go back,
to Life as i once knew it,
to many things had changed,
I knew that I had blew it.
should have stayed in Life,
searched for my soul-mate there,
probably wasn't even alive now,
no one left to care.
last person that I met,
was a guy a lot like me,
wandered with me for a while,
but I saved him from paying the fee.
came back not long ago,
to give me his thanks,
he'd found his soul-mate in Life,
and climbed up in the ranks.
I've wisdom like no other,
no mortal man comes close,
so many years of this Life,
that's really only a small dose.
couldn't call it real life,
lik that I had once known,
for things were vastly different,
in the Sands of Time I roamed.
talked with countless creatures,
of long forgotten lore,
spoke all languages to exist,
and maybe a few more.
I've lost all sense of time,
for it's distorted in this place,
I've aged only a few months,
still have the same young face.
and though I've hardly aged,
I've felt each passing year,
just as it would be in Life,
though without Death's fear.
here live only forgotten creatures,
I am the only human to be seen,
though some others have visited,
the were like a passing dream.
Death one day will find me,
in this hiding place I am,
oh how long it will take,
to meet the Holy Lamb.
so this is where I have lived,
and where I will still roam,
the Sands of Time my resting place,
until God finally brings me home.
