Little Red Rose

by Janice Brown~©~   Feb 17, 2005

The little red rose
has fallen to the ground
The little red rose
is so lost, never to be found

Time has changed
Its once beautiful colour
All the hurt
Has made it duller

The petals have fallen
and now theres only one left
This little red rose
Wishes it could just forget

dispite your opinion of mine, which by the way, if you dont like it, please tell me why...i would like to know...i like yours, i like how petite it is, yet how deep it is, how someone used to feel they meant so much, but then they feel un important and worn by their past or some event, very good...

i like is a lote, although i do have to agree that it would be better without the last stanza, its still awesome because a lot can be interpreted from it because of the metaphor

I don't think you should have the last stanza. A good reader would have picked up on the metaphor of the rose to a person, and most people would automatically assume that the person you're relating the rose to is you. By explicitly pointing out the metaphor of your poem, it sort of defeats the mystery surrounding it.
