Through the lies

by Chantelle   Feb 21, 2005

“This isn’t me,” she says
”This is not who I am
I don’t want to be like this
It wasn’t in my plans.”

Then she pulls down her sleeves
So her friends can’t see her arms
Because her once flawless skin
Is now covered with scars

She feels like no one understands her
That they can’t see the hurt in her eyes
And she wonders how they can’t see
That she’s hiding behind all these lies

And a fun night of drinking to her friends
Is the addiction that she needs
And as she lay there when the night is over
”Just take me away” is what she pleads

And though her friends can’t see it
She’s slowly starting to fade away
And she’s trying her hardest
So on this earth she can stay

So each and every morning
She puts on her disguise
And she thinks no one sees through it
But I see through all her lies..
