The city's darkness

by kevin meehan   Feb 21, 2005

Creeping suspiciously upon the city
dark as a black cat pouncing on its prey
covering its path like a murky thunder cloud
nighttime brings sun light to an end

with its mysterious grace, evening unfolds
creating shadowy figures as it moves along
the sombre night paints the city walls in inky dews
thrusting night-lights to explode

a symphony of colour brightens the gloomy streets
brushing away fears and loneliness
