Psalm of Hatred

I sift through this ancient
compendium of human virulence
and distill from the copycat bile
at the fetid heart of spite,
a few choice refrains:

You are beneath me!
I despise you!
You will die!
I will kill you!
Vengeance is mine!
My god wills it!

No matter what maw
yawns wide with spittle,
the psalm of hatred
remains the vile same.
