I'm Always Here

by Aidyn   Feb 26, 2005

What is there for me to do?
I can't compare myself to you.
I do not know what's false or true.
I cannot tell you what to choose.

We do not think in the same way
The things we do, the things we say
All your feelings small or grand
I can't start to understand

Whatever's happened
Through all the years
Don't know your hopes
Don't know your fears

Who am I to interject?
I don't have the intellect
I cannot know, I cannot feel
The emotions that, for you are real

But I can be there for you
A shoulder you can cry into
I can't know, but I'll try my best
At least put me to the test

What is there for me to do?
I cannot compare myself to you
I cannot know, I cannot see...
But I'm always here, if you need me...

Great poem! I really like it, and I love it's meaning and flow. A lot of "Friends" poems r sort of sappy, but this one is different. Nice work! if u have time, vote or comment on some of mine, thx!
