Reminiscing

by Todd   Feb 27, 2005

Reminiscing with Grandpa
Because there is nothing to do
Looking through boxes
Of old things and new

Old hats and furs
Jackets and a guitar
But what touched me most
Was old letters from Grandma

Grandpa told me
When he and Grandma were young
They would walk on the beach
Until down went the sun

Oh the good old days
They would go for a picnic
Just randomly run off
Under the willow they would sit

After nine kids
And thirty six grandchildren later
Grandma was pretty tired
Afterall, she was a leader

Many Many years
Of eating the wrong foods
She had a stroke
Then we all had sad moods

Letting her go
Was not easy at all
Knowing it was for the best
We let God call

Packing up the memories
Of Grandma's and Grandpa's
Putting them away
And leaving Grandpa's happy
