Confessions

by Stef   Mar 1, 2005

A kiss from lips dyed red with blood from a heart
Beating so silently in the black depth of the dark
Taunted and teased with this fake scarlet smile
Controlled and abused but loving it all the while.
Tainted with emotion and painted with confusion
So cautiously planned, creating a perfect illusion.
Always pretty in pain and so alarming alive
Drawing pictures of death in tears being cried
Reaching out a hand, wishing for a real touch
Grasping only false hope, and hoping all too much.
Infected lungs keep gasping, breathing stale air
Holding out bleeding arms, praying for repair
Slashing away with razors in midnight hours of fear
Destination once unknown but slowly becoming clear.
Covering the scars with sleeves of thought out lies
A useless invention as they scratch at blackened eyes
Shattering a silence being created by cruel intentions
Lost amidst the battle of a thousand dark confessions
Choking on apologies as ruby wrists glow bright
A declaration of depression stains the floors tonight.
