Saying Good-bye

Every time we see each other
The good bye becomes less and less
But what you don’t understand
Is that I am starting to guess
Guess if you comprehend
The fact that you’re hurting me
Because it’s hard for you
For you to see me
I understand why it’s hard
It’s just the same for me
But I strive to show you that saying good-bye is the key
Key to showing we care
And that a simple hug makes
Makes one feel better
And stops the heartache
Maybe you don’t see it
And maybe you don’t care
But can’t you just act
Act like I am there
You used to say good-bye
With a hug and I love you
But now it’s coming down
To just a wave to do
The I love you has faded
And the hug has disappeared
And all along this is something
Something that I feared
So even if it’s hard
And even if you don’t care
I just want you to know
This is hard for me to bare
Because I always wished
That my life would have you
And that every single good-bye
Would be sincere and true
