No one can touch us

by Michael   Mar 8, 2005

Quietly waiting
In the silence of dead night
Rotten leaves and a fallen star
Tells secrets of once a dream
The howling of the moon
And the shadows from the twilight
Depict a ghost from such a child's tale
Handed down from generations past
Spoken between the dead air
And a frozen December night
On that hill she had fallen down
Washed away into the river below
As we walk away
Nothing could touch us then
But ourselves
And with our love
Poured out from our wrists
We became one as a whole
Shunned upon by the moon's light
Gnawed at by the insects below
A distant peace at war within ourselves
Surrounded by a magnificent shame
And an awe inspiring courage
No one could touch us then
No one can help us now
