Never was and Will Never Be

by BreatheNoMore   Mar 8, 2005

I see you through my car window
As you pull up alongside me
An existence of compassion appears so seemingly
And our eyes meet for just a moment
Not long enough to know your purpose
But not too short to not know your intent
And I wonder could you be someone like me
Are you just another pretty face?
Or are you a lovely sight to see
And if we came together
How long would our correlation last
Would we share a few trivial moments
Or could we someday have a past

Would there come a day
Every picture holds your face
And I can’t remember anytime or anyplace without you
Or are you a figure to my eyes

I look past my reflection
As you turn the key
And the whole life we could have created
Will never ever be
