Blade Of Nightmares

by JustAFoolInLove   Mar 8, 2005

I’m eyeing a blade
One harder than steel
A blade that had once
Made my flesh a meal

Far away in the past
This blade was a key
To a place of escape
And wounds cut listlessly

Yes, these cuts hurt me
They brought a loud pain
But they relieved deep sorrow
When blood crept from my vein

I let other pain flow
Out from deep in my soul
And to me it felt good
To dig a large hole

Destruction and chaos
Swept over my mind
As I found a dark place
I thought no one could find

I don’t want to go back
To this dungeon of pain
I found sorrow there
Nothing good to gain

Pleasure has been forbidden
I can’t have any fun
So I spend my time hidden
For there’s nowhere to run

My dreams are my fort
A special place I can hide
Where no pain will creep into
Where I contemplate suicide

So to dream lands I flee
To a place I can trust
Here, no one can reach me
Unless, dearly, they must

But, what is the chance
In this place I am in
That I will escape my pain
And hide from my kin

For they are wicked
And their hearts are dark
So there’s a good chance they’re here
Peeling my soul open like bark

This pain is too much
So to my friend I turn
To a blade of nightmares
With pain not a concern

Well...i see that I've commented on this before, BUT...i never REALLY got to comment on the poetry itself.
Now, believe me when I say that i am actually reading each and everyone of them.

--The rhyme scheme is enchantingly dark with the simple rhyme scheme. So amazing how -you- can turn something so...ordinary into such a masterpiece.
    Bravo!
