Watching You

I stood there and watched you suffer
Painting a portrait upon your own hands
With tears in my eyes
And letters in my head
Your soul with screaming cries
Filtering in the pain you were fed

And she stands alone
Crumbling apart
Tearing flesh from the bone
With skeleton fingers against the window pane
Figures inside her, edging her insane
Fighting a war in the pages of a book
Scratching the underneath of what she took
Crushing against her Hell in time
Little girl with needles down her spine…

Strength lasts a second
Pain lasts a life
Scratching it broken
Upon the silver knife
Engraved upon the touch
Giving to the bone until its crush
Glass upon your pale face
Pouring upon the blood you taste

And she stands alone

    Wonderful write though very definite and sad. I like the way you specified her, because a picture build up in my mind, so your metaphors were brilliantly described !
    5/5 Espacially the last two stanzas were my fave ones. These two lines "Strength lasts a second
    Pain lasts a life" were very inspiring !
