The Only Thing You Wanted

by BreatheNoMore   Mar 8, 2005

Look me in the eyes
And tell me why you’re treating me like this
Speak clear and please define
Why you feel it necessary to make me feel like sh it

So all the time we spent
With all the intellectual conversation
Was just your pathetic devise
To fulfill your self indulgent fixation

How could you?
Be present for my body and my pretty face
Allow me to share with you my heart and soul
When you were only there for just one purpose
You drained that much more of my confidence
Damage you’ll never see upon my surface

And of course you didn’t get what you wanted
I won’t mold myself into the who re you’d all like me to be
No Please, go ahead and tear apart my self-esteem
Until hell is my permanent daily theme

But won’t you just do one thing for me
Look me in the eyes
And tell me what you really think
Are you too much of a coward?
Or was I the one who was meant to raise your self-esteem?
