The One You Once Were

by blackheartinlove   Mar 12, 2005

Tender lies,
Sooth the weak,
Dead inside,
Tiny hearts that leak.

Lies from the lovers,
Cold and untrue,
She's held on for as long as possible,
She tried, tried so hard just for you.

Promises broken,
Life's a lie,
How do you do it,
Break the tie.

Pretty pictures,
Little lies,
Cover the noises,
Hide your eyes.

Hearts lay broken,
Tears do fall,
You must think differently,
Like you're not hurting them all.

Lies are the enemy,
They do nothing but destroy,
All the happy memories,
All the things they enjoy.

She's given up on you,
Never the one you once were,
She never thought it would hurt so bad,
Never knew how important you were to her.

Questions still unanswered,
Lies still beating,
When will you be back,
Tell her were you're meeting.

Tiny smiles,
Still arise,
As she remembers the look in your eyes,
When you told her, the memories never die.
