Another Encounter When I Again Flounder

Another Encounter When I Again Flounder

Well, Sir, It’s good to see you again.
Yes, lad, it’s good to see you again too.
Actually I am never far away from you
But you acknowledge me only when you want to.

Sir, I see that you come and go;
And I recall that I make it so--
When stubborn am I to reject your truth
You leave right away and call me uncouth.

Well, lad, would it not be grand
If we could be always together by a slight of hand?
So slight a change as an attitude fix
Should fill the bill – it would be kicks!

I would not have to beat you and hail you with words,
And you would not feel so sore afterwards!
But, Sir, call it slight of hand, simple, if you will,
But change for me is a bitter pill.

I yearn for your wisdom, your warmth and your touch,
But fixing my stubborn way? That’s asking too much!
Well, lad, I can only say that we have been together today
And I have not left you yet – if you will, I am here to stay.

You have acknowledged your stubborn way
And that’s not a simple roll in the hay.
I think again that there is potential in you
But that is only my point of view.

Kind Sir, Dear Lord, I want you to stay
Here in my heart day after day:
It is you that sustains me, giving life to my bones,
I want you to make my heart your permanent home.

(This is an ongoing dialogue I have with the Lord;
If it interests you and you are not bored out of your gourd,
You can pick it up further – it is entirely your choice –
Read “I Call Him Sir” and “What Is Your Voice?”)
