Life Begins

The moon hangs lazily in the midnight sky,
illuminating the shadows upon her face.
Highlighting the tear drops in her eyes,
as she searches for another place.

Yearning to escape the judgmental glares,
those hurtful jibes and sneers.
Longing to be with those that truly care
and away from all those fears.

As the midnight stars begin to appear,
and glow ever more bright.
An angel wipes away a tear,
as she gets her wings of flight.

She soars through the welcoming air,
with sweet grace and ease.
Not quite believing she is there,
instead of falling to her knees.

As she spreads her magnificent wings
and casts shadows all around.
She hears the other angels sing,
at the peace she has finally found.

The running and fear have now ceased,
no more hiding from the pain.
As she becomes one with peace,
An angel with everything to gain.
