Tender Eyes of Your Angel

by Gem   Mar 16, 2005

Your scars tell fairy tale stories
Of dragons and knights
And many hopeless battles.
You are a knight-
With a strong sharp blade
And a shining suit of armour
In which you hide.

When every day is the worst
And the only good thing
That will ever come is death,
You fall down to your knees
And pray to god for a release.

Then, when you are at the
Lowest point of living
And just about to give up,
Someone special comes along
With a caring smile and loving hand.
They illuminate the darkest corners
And bridge the deepest canyons.

They mop your blood from the floor
And gently dress your wounds -
They patch you up as best they can.
You are no burden.
Tender eyes of your angel
Watch over you as you sleep off
The troubles of the day.

‘Precious one, please don’t
Be afraid of the darkness,
Because the sun will rise again
And light will shine down on you
And you will find the your way.’
