The Beast Within

by Momentary Relapse   Mar 18, 2005

I’m standing beside the window
A cool breeze disturbs the night
I feel it coming so suddenly
I no longer have to fight

I remember so clearly that night
When this curse or gift was given me
I was frightened by a creature
One that was so terrible to see

The skin of my neck had been torn
And so I began to bled
My terror had reached an apex
And I for my life I did plead

It could be either miracle or curse
That I am still living
And ever since that fateful night
I do not feel so forgiving

It comes now more strongly then before
Torturing me deep down inside
The terrible monster is coming out
I can no longer run and hide

The bright shine of the moon
Comes out from behind a cloud
The beast within me awakens
My it is becoming so loud

It is painful to let the beast free
Destroying me in its haste
My mind is swept so far away
Discarded as though it was waste

I am consumed now by the monster within
And I will never be the same
My time is ended as the beast comes
Along with the never-ending pain
