Everest

by Ian Costello   Mar 23, 2005

Love is Mount Everest,
But easy none the lest,
Base Camp is set on even ground,
With whirling of promise all around,
Climb starts with spirits high,
Hopeful hearts beating a lullaby.

Love is Mount Everest,
Weeping on secure chest,
The walls steep and icy,
And decisions often dicey,
Arguments tear the team to a shred,
But morrow's night sees them in same bed,
From whence them came,
heads hung in shame,
Love can mend all hurts.

Love is Mount Everest,
Patrons heart never rest,
To see the top of Everest,
Festooned with flags of the cleverest,
Of lovers reached the top of Everest,
The travelers who's hearts never rest,
Love is Mount Everest.

From a Happy Climber
