Nothing Without You

Father, I ask forgiveness
for not putting you first in my life
It didn't take long to realize
I am nothing without you by my side
You have my love above any other
A love I will not let fail
I vow my heart to be steadfast
Jesus will always prevail
I could never pretend to deny
all the ways you show you care
You've been my father
when mine was never there
you wrapped your arms around me
when I wanted only to die
You showed me through your love
the plans you had for my life
You were there with me
when I had my baby boy
You took my tears of confusion
and turned them to tears of joy
You were my husband
when my marriage was falling apart
You renewed our love
You showed us where to start
I am blessed to call you Father
more so to call you friend
I will cling to you forever
this I now contend
I thank you Father
for your mercy and your grace
as I humble myself before you
and only seek your face
as I bow down at your feet
wash them with my tears
I will worship you forever
for all my remaining years.
