The Last Hit

by Celia   Mar 28, 2005

I stand here and take it all. I don't know what I did to make you so upset. You reach out to smack me and I take it. I must be used to it after many years of this.

I lie on the floor not knowing what to do now. Should I get up or lie here? I can barely see your figure standing over me. I close my eyes not knowing what to do.

Something inside of me telling me to get up and run. I can feel the weight of your knees pinning my arms down. Hit after hit, kiss after kiss, I take it all. My body begins to shut down. With the little energy I have left I push your naked body off mine.

Now I realize that I've made a mistake of fighting back. You get off the floor with your hands making a fist. I see flashes of lights and it all goes black and I hit the floor. I can feel my breaths getting lighter and lighter. With my remaining thoughts I think 'this isn't the man I married.'
