Dancing In the Rain

by eternal rest   Mar 30, 2005

Today I was walking,
Friend by my side.
When the rain started pouring.
Like the sky was falling
From its nestled arms.

I longed to dance,
To sing and scream.
But self containment
Demolished my dream.

I’ve wanted to be free
For as long as I can remember.
Dance like there’s no one watching.
Scream like there’s no one listening.
Run like there’s no end.

My heart, these days,
Is so contained.
Imprisoned by its “realistic goals”.
Bound by its faithless words.

I think what I need,
Is something simple.
To dance and sing and scream
In the falling rain.

To dance like there’s no one watching.
Scream like there’s no one listening
Run like there’s no end.

Its a very good composition. I often feel that way too-seeking liberty from all the bounds that limit me. Its a 5/5.

well, i came up with that poem today when alex and i were walking back to school after lunch and it started to rain. thats where the whole "friend by my side" part came from.

::claps like a madman:: good job, kelly! forgive me if i'm wrong, but does this have ANYTHING to do with how alex loves the rain cuz of john, or am i way off track as usual?
