A Memory to Endure Time

by Aidyn   Mar 30, 2005

Will your love endure the
Wizened hands of time,
Without my own to hold?
Will you wait for me
Though I can't come back?
Will your warmth last out the cold?

When my bones are dust
Buried deep 'neath the ground
Will you still adore my soul?
Can a memory serve to
Fill a dark void?
Can it cover a painful hole?

Do you think of me
When you need a friend
Though I can't come to your aid?
Do you remember
the time we shared?
Do you wish it could have stayed?

Now I'm gone and lost
Do you call out to me
Though I cannot hear your cries?
Do you pine and grieve
And soft to the wind
Let out a broken sigh

And hope that it will
Last the long years
'Til it's but a memory?
Maybe then, somehow
Through wind and earth
It will find its way to me.
