When you're lying alone, crying, and half asleep,
Look up to remember there is no reason to weep,
You are not alone through life's journey and betrayal,
Sometimes you win but be prepared to fail,
God will be with you through your times of need,
if you keep your faith He'll be there for you indeed.
He is more than a companion and friend,
He is more like a feeling in your soul that will never end.
He is the optimism in life which turns a grey sky blue,
you are his child and He'll never give up on you.
Be true to yourself and to God's word,
and within eternal life you'll be as free as a bird.
So when you're lying alone, crying, and half asleep,
remember God and thou shalt no longer weep.
