Solitary Thoughts

by Eden   Apr 6, 2005

I lay in the earth so still; so quiet.
The sun's poison still seeps through my organic shield...
...It burns my dead skin with determined purpose.
In life, the light of the Son seared me into oblivion,
And I could see nothing but oblique darkness in my mind.
The white of the earth destroyed me...
...The bowels of hell keep me barren of hope.
Locked in my prison, I live...
...But I am dead just the same.

I cannot love...
Can I live?
I cannot grow...
Must I die?
I cannot feel...
Must I feel your pain?
I am left only to my thoughts...
Must you toy with my only possession?!

i don't much like vulgarity in poetry, I think it takes away it's beauty, so I'd change f-u-c-k to toy , but that's your choice, only my suggestion. However, nice poem once again....beautiful imagery, metaphors, etc....I'm adding you to my favorites!

    keep in touch!
