An old friend

You were once my friend
you said you would be there to the end
everyone called you a bum
but I called you my second mom

I brought you in to my home
did not leave you stranded and all alone
your family abonded you
and there was nothing you could say or do

We were best friends you and me
together we would walk the streets happily
I had a smile all the time
even when you would ask for more than a dime

I always helped you out
sometimes I would shout
why are you this way
can you change someday

You had a son
he was an evil one
he would talk back to you with no care
sometimes I just wanted to pull out his hair

There were times we would struggle you and me
but still we remained happy
times we had no money or food
but we still acted like everything was all good

We did a lot of drugs together
felt good thought this feeling would last forever
we did crack cocaine we did marijuana and sometimes would drink beer
and ask people to come over and give us a little cheer

I really miss you-yes I do
but it was all you
you and your manipulations and lies
you and Shane acted like flies

I hated the fact that you got pissed at me when I kicked you out
I really wanted to scream, kick you and shout
then you were gone without a care
and left nothing for me- my fridge was bare

and to this day I reminisce about the past
I thought it was awesome I thought our friendship would last
I went into the centre to quit my awful addictions
and you left with no contradictions

You only called once and said to your sister is she still in there
you did not believe in me:thought I would not make it-you were never fair
I heard you went to b.c to see your son
I hope that you did and that your having fun

I hope someday I will see you again
because you were my friend
and even though we did not get along most of the time
I will always be here:to hear you unwind

Rose I do miss her
she was like no other
always there asking for a smoke
and sometimes she would even crack a good joke

no matter what anyone says
I still love her in many ways
and I pray to god she is alright and doing OK
she will always be in my heart every day
