The Day My Nana Came...

by Hayley Marie   Apr 8, 2005

*i wrote this 2 years before my Great Nana died*

Life Was Dull And Dreary,
Old Age Was Creeping On.
They Say It Never Comes Alone,
It Brings All Its Mates Along!

To Live Alone, Is Not Her Scene,
Fate Is So Unfair.
Self Pity, Overwelmed Me,
You Nurtured It With Care!

Yearning For Contentment,
Which Seemed To Keep At Bay.
When Suddenly The Clouds Dispersed,
For Bobby Came That Day!

My Nana Bobby Is A Lady,
Who Rescued Me From Gloom.
Her Friendly Smile So Welcome,
Like Sunshine In My Room!

Although Bobby Is Not Free From Pain,
Her Courage Never Fails.
A Voluntary Carer,
Her Visits Must Prevail.

So Her Ailment Won The Day,
But Bobby Will Not Beg.
Just Hopes A Cleaver Specialist,
Will Fix Her Bloody Leg!

I liked that. It was unique and definitly must have taken some time writing. One suggestion though. The end seems maybe a bit hurried because i don't think the last line fits with what i think your trying to portray, so if you'd change that i think it would be better. But anyway, great poem, keep on writing.
