I'll survive on my own

by Elli   Apr 9, 2005

You think you know me?
Trust me, you ain't got a clue
You think I tell you everything?
Nah ah, I can't possibly tell you

It's not like you want to know
It's far too 'deep' for you
I can imagine your reaction
You'd say “yeah right” or “ew”

Well guess what, I have problems
There's a lot of things you don't know
My life sure as hell ain't perfect
Although you seem to think so

Sometimes it's just too much
I try to keep it all inside
I don't want to look vulnerable
So I crawl away and hide

In desperation, I crab the scissors
Yeah that's right, I cut
It's all about the control
Knowing it's my decision

I guess I'm just growing up
And I guess you don't need to know
No one does actually
I can survive on my own

So when you feel I'm quiet
And there's something you don't know
Please, don't make up rumors
I still know how to say “no”

Have your theories about me
Those, I don’t need to know
I still have some dignity left
I won't sink that low
