Your Words, They Burn

by JustAFoolInLove   Apr 10, 2005

Why would you say that
And let me hear it all?
When you know it hurts
To hear you talk like that

The lies you speak
They hurt my ears
And late at night
I cry out in pain

I hurt in spirit,
What you’ve said has done it;
I opened veins,
You cut my heart

Your words to me
Burn like acid
Back in my eyes
And make me weep

I redeem these words
You utter without care
With blades and flame,
Lacerations and pain

My lighter, now
Releases flame
That licks my tool,
My razorblade

When it’s hot
Enough for me
I let it burn me,
And slice with heat

But I need more
Pain in my life
For even this
Is not enough

My flesh is burning,
I know this pain;
It’s so much the same
As the burn of your words

    So many sad poems. So many different words you use to describe your pains. If it weren't for those, I wonder sometimes if its even possible for a person to feel that deep. But standards never held anything against you.
