Letting Go

by NightKeeper   Apr 11, 2005

Your last words rang thought my head
I remember every word you said

Your skin was as white as the moon
I knew you would be leaving me soon

I held your hand tight
Willing you to fight

You looked so small in the hospital bed
The pillow seemed to swallow your head

Your hand lay cold in mine
I wished everything was fine!

I thought how could this be?
How could God do this to me?

Then I heard you speak
Your voice was very weak

You said "I'm not afraid to die"
I willed myself not to cry

I whispered "I love you"
You said softly " You too"

And that, I had to let you go
Thats when I let my tears flow

I said "I wish you weren't dying"
You said please stop crying

I whispered "Good-bye"
And thats when you let your soul fly
