Reflection

by deadnalone   Apr 19, 2005

Look into my eyes,
Tell me what do you see?
When i look in the mirror,
A ghost stares back at me,

Face drained from the lack of sleep,
Bags under these eyes,
Black lines running down my cheeks,
From the endless tears i cry,

Fingernails embedded into,
The skin upon my wrist,
I'm itching, i want to cut at it,
To bleed out all of this,

Scars adorn my wrist,
And paint a picture for you,
But it still doesn't depict the depression,
And the pain that I've been through,

Hair hanging in front of my face,
Trying to hide the tears,
But even that blanket of darkness,
It cannot mask my fears,

The body, a little too round,
IS stood alone in the shadow,
Of sisters, clever and beautiful,
Who leave comments, hurtful and low,

Ears, dead to the shouts,
Of a thousand unheard friends,
Even they don't see her,
Trying to bring her life to it's end,

The people that should be in my picture,
The ones who are, to me, so close,
Can't be in here with me,
At a time when i need them most,

Look into these tearful eyes,
Can you see what i see?
Or is this shattered reflection,
Only visible to me?
