When ...

by Unseen Exposure   Apr 21, 2005

When my words aren't enough
And the silence seems to say it all
When there's nothing left for us
But to prepare for the inevitable fall

When the worst has come and gone
And the gray clouds remain over head
When the chance for something to prevail
Unexpectedly winds up dead

When the truth hides in the shadows
And the footsteps walk through hell
When the night is long and winding
And only pain is left to expell

When walls crumble and don't rebuild
And hate is all that we can see
When our view has been submitted
And guilt makes it's last plea

When shallow water drowns the soul
That never thought of death
When bodies stay in waiting
Stagnant below the water's breast

When hope is torn from fingers
And words can't release the tongue
That's when the chance has passed
That is when the journey's done.
