That's what's meant to be

by Timothy   Apr 21, 2005

1st Verse:
Just a scared little girl,
In a great big world;
Who's greatest sorrow...
Is facing another tomorrow.

But she's got to hold on tight,
Never give up the fight;
Because through all the pain she believes...
Someone special will make her happy.

But every time she turns around,
Somebody kicks her down;
It's a horrid sight, when gloom is all she sees...
And she believes...that's what's meant to be.

Chorus:
She was just a child,
Born rambunctious and wild;
Her mom and dad hurt her so badly...(fade)
But she guesses that's what's meant to be.
Living alone (so alone), out on the street,
Wounded, but not admitting defeat;
This girl is standing, but with shaking knees...
That's what's meant to be.

2nd Verse:
There was a time,
When she thought she saw a sign;
A gentle touch of a man...
A helpful, guiding hand.

She had tasted love,
The Great, White Dove;
But his love turned out to be coy...
And that man...he was a boy.

But unintentionally, he left her a gift when he was done,
He helped her find that special SOMEONE;
She smiles, and rubs her growing belly,
And KNOWS that's what's meant to be.

Repeat Chorus:
She was just a child,
Born rambunctious and wild;
Her mom and dad hurt her so badly...(fade)
But she guesses that's what's meant to be.
Living alone (so alone), out on the street,
Wounded, but not admitting defeat;
This girl is standing, but with shaking knees...
That's what's meant to be.
