Prometheus

by Ð맆îñ¥   Apr 21, 2005

The suffering of denies that burnt through my soul
Shoot down my heart from whence that bird comes
It’s coming today like so many before
Forgiveness must awake the life from me

Fire, fire, the worlds aflame
It’s my doing that’s caused such wrath
It’s a dim amber glow
Stretched to the end of this mortal earth

Oh but I knew of the troubles I’d face
I knew the sincerity of death wouldn’t come
Pain as punishment, brought on each day
How much my heart bled, you know not

Until the gods realize their fate
At which my hands would aid
A mortal man must save the mount
He shall wait for his awakening
Beyond all Zeus’ reckoning

A man shall come with the courage and the strength
A man so bold he’ll leave his mother earth
And climb the peak to his father

Does the father know?
Only I could foretell the wonder
The changing colours fade to his eyes
As dim as the fires breathing loose sighs

Zeus, a friend, almighty hand
Could it be said a betrayer to his own
Chaos of order and order of mine
Persuasion shall not evade me
Not for your search for secrets

Oh, but to a friend, this warning was given
You must repay such an ancient debt
You must sit and watch your kingdom fall
Lest an immortal death should take it

My tongue grows weary of speaking of you
But my thoughts rest upon men
Shall I start this ride to an uncertain death?
A titan would wish to serve them

War is coming, and so many more
No time wasted in ones personal shrine
A gift of mine is more so than yours
Or the mourners should die mid-chorus

Listen to your heart, forgive a friend of old
Spite from a forgotten time must lie
Remember the times when gods spent no care
And know that it’s from my children your home should be saved

Cool! It's nice to see someone writing about history other than just feelings etc etc. Nice work. Beautifully written, a lot of thought put into it - yes, no? It seems it lol. 5/5. I like your stuff. (",)
