Letting You Go

by Emily   Apr 24, 2005

You are someone that will always be in my heart
I know your memory will never depart
You’ve done so much in just this one year
And losing you is something I can hardly bear

You held my head up when it was down
You told me to keep smiling when my smile was a frown
When I felt as though life were becoming to crazy a ride
It was you in which I could confide

You taught me some things that are just so new
How can someone be your friend that’s 6 years older than you
I now know that age doesn’t play a role
You can be friends, no matter how old

But now is when I want you to reach your goal
Now it’s time to rock and roll
You go to Princeton and do what you do
I promise you girl, I’ll make it too

I’ll do all I can to stay busy
Anything to get me out of this tizzy
It’s just so hard to let you go
It hurts me more than you could ever know

This friendship has meant oh so much
You gave me some memories that will go untouched
You mean more than the air I breath
Because you were the one who taught me to believe

I know one day we’ll meet again
But for now this is the end
Goodbye my sister
Goodbye my friend

dedicated to Anne Murray, i will always remember you, you are the greatest! i love you Mur!
