Missing You

I remember it like yesterday
her singing to Brittany Spears
I remember how brave she was
she never had any fears

she was a blonde haired
blue eyed daddy's little girl
she was only about eight
but was ready to take on the world

she said she was an angel
and that one day she would fly
she said when she grew her wings
she'd write us a message in the sky

she said one day she'd get married
and have kids of her own
she wanted three dogs
and a little blue home

she wanted to be a writter
she wanted to be a star
she wanted to be famous
and drive a fancy car

thinking about her
brings a smile to my face
thinking about that night
my heart picks up it's pace

It was a cold night
her parents weren't home
she was getting restless
for the baby-sitter was on the phone

she went out-side
to play a little basketball
she didn't think it'd hurt anything;
nothing at all

but then it happend
the ball bounced off her feet
before she could catch it
it rolled into the street

she went after it
not looking both ways
maybe if she had
she'd still be here today

the doctors tried everything
there was nothing they could do
they tried everything
she just didn't pull through

the funeral was the worst
memories filled my head
never again would I see her
our little angel was dead

she is gone now
but I miss her still
no matter how much time passes
I know I always will

she's an angel now
her wish finally came true
whenever I look up to heaven
I'll be saying "Little Girl I'm Missing you."
