The Dance

by Momentary Relapse   Apr 25, 2005

You were going to the dance with her
I swear to you I really don’t mind
She flashed me an evil grin of malice
Thinking she has irked me this time

It really doesn’t bother me of you two
She believes I’m hurting deep inside
But I am not because I don’t care
She hopes I’ll begin my new suicide

I know you think you like her now
I know you think I’m hurting again
But I want you to go with her tonight
That way we’ll both somehow win

You want me to change my views
You just want me to show an emotion
About what has long ago happened
And its affect even if it’s a little portion

Go with her to this dance tonight
You will see me there hopefully as well
Along with my shining gallant knight
Who is helping me out of my shell

Unlike you my knight is always there
He helps people during their dark times
And unlike you he truly for me cares
And his radiance brightly in dark shines

You are going with her not me
And I am taking my true best friend
He doesn’t ever feel any type of jealousy
Unlike her who wants me to end

I do not mind you going to the dance
Even if it is with her my one enemy
Despite her wicked glares of evil
I believe she is your best company

I really want you to go tonight
With her because I do not care
She may think I’m holding onto pain
But I am not even if you’ll be there

You want me to admit I’m hurt
You simply want me to acknowledge pain
Over what happened in the past
And see me loose grip and turn insane

Go ahead take her to this dance tonight
I am going to be there as well
With my knight in shining armor
Who is bringing me out of my shell

And if you happen to see me and him
I ask you let us just have one chance
As I am giving you one with her
If it won’t work save me the last dance
