A girl I know

A girl I know, broken and pushed to the floor
Locks herself away behind her bedroom door
Shattered like glass, being beaten away
Like a clouds silver lining, which was turned to grey

Upon a breeze she drifts, She tries to carry on longer
Listens to the words, "your pain will make you stronger"
Stands in front of a mirror, She just cannot see
As she stares into a pale image of herself, who she cannot be

As she beats herself up, trying to punch her pain down
She hides away the tears, and the bitter frown
As she stares upon the face of the one she loves so true
But those words haunt "why would anyone love you?"

Deep brown eyes, echo her thoughts behind the mask
she attempts to pull herself from the sea of her past
Her lover left her hanging, lasted only a few days
Before the other persons feeling went far away

Questions are forming on the tip of her tounge
She has seen too much for a girl so young
Had her heart broken, many times many ways
as she slips through her life, powering down every day
