The Thirst

by Timothy   Apr 29, 2005

The irritation of the sun has caused me to fall back,
Back to the shadows of the clandestine night;
The safety of that all-consuming opaqueness soothes my tortured soul,
Where mere mortals lose their sight.

I am powerful,
Stronger and faster than any man;
My senses are attuned, as a wild beast,
And I constantly roam the darkened land.

Few weapons can kill me,
Many men have tried their worst;
I am an immortal, but I am never free,
Because I am limited, bound by The Thirst.
