The Misjudged

by Aidyn   Apr 30, 2005

She holds the world close to her heart,
And yet does not perceive
How nature pines and spirit mourns
And fate itself does grieve.

She sleeps not but for shadows, soft,
To recollect her damaged soul.
She strives at all costs to remake
Her broken body whole.

She kills without the guilt that
Would have torn another being.
There is no empathic thought,
But hopeless anger, seething.

She knows not penance for her crimes
Though crime is no accusation.
She does not know, she does not care
For such petty, small frustrations.

She holds but one fact that she knows
Is rooted to her core
Such taciturn emotions
Thrown carelessly on the floor

Beware the Fallen Spirit; do not look
To madness or to reason
For such a hope will only end
In hostile thoughts and treason.

Thanks for reading! I'd really enjoy your comments and votes, good or bad. I only ask that if you vote low, please tell me why.

*comes out of hiding* i closed my eyes and scrolled down through your endless list of poems, stopping my mouse at random on one i could comment on...and what luck to have found another of your series poems! =) these are always impressive. i don't know how old this one is, but it's certainly high quality, MPB.
i don't want to give you another stale 'ooh, me like' comment, though, so i should look for something to suggest. the thing is, it's difficult with your poems seeing as how they need no retouching as far as i'm concerned. if you like, you could change the expression "thrown" to "strewn" for a little articulate edge (this was in your semi-last stanza, btw) ..other than that, it's positively scintillating as is

That was great. I loved the word choice just riveting I suppose. That was awesome. I really, really like this one. The flow and the word choice was amazing.
