Faceless Fan

by Shædow Poet   Apr 30, 2005

Faceless Fan

The silhouette, loudly buzzing
The corrosion, faintly standing
The smile, a lacklustre to cool
My scream, it fades.

Merely another blur to them
They stand so vibrant and eminent
Whilst I, though applauding another night
Am just another figure of the stereotype-
A fan, a screaming gently admirer
Of a band, a group of the musical,
I watch, they drum
And I smile at them-

They see right through me.

I talk at school, my friends, they laugh
I am obsessive, believing
That this group acknowledges me
Extol their music, I do
Tunes that embrace my soul in flames
I burn white infernos that dance
They laugh, once more
A band could never value anonymity.

The untalented, only in label
The cliched mask, in their eyes
Another scent of spirit, barren
To them, that’s me-

A supporter, a faceless nobody.
